Shielding and protecting people who are clinically extremely vulnerable from COVID-19

Blood tests during the pandemic - New online booking system www.merseycare.nhs.uk/mybloodtest

As of 13th July 2020

From 1st July we will be changing the way patients are brought into the surgery. Concept House Surgery will be classed as a 'cold site’ and will be used for seeing ‘well patients’. Patients coming in to Concept House will only be attending for appointments for blood tests, childhood immunisations or to see the midwife. We ask patients to attend their appointments; alone (or with child for immunisations) additional people will be turned away, on time and if early wait in the car or outside and if you are experiencing ANY symptoms such as a cough, temperature or flu like symptoms please cancel your appointment.

As of 19th March 2020

In light of the ongoing COVID-19 situation, Concept House and Sefton Road Surgery are following advice from NHS England and moving to a total telephone triage system. This means that rather than offering a face to face appointment, you can only contact the a doctor by submitting an e-consult or requesting a phone call. This is designed to reduce the number of people physically attending the surgery to protect staff and patients from COVID-19. The surgery doors will remain closed until further notice. If you require a repeat prescription, please use our online services or prescription post boxes at the front of the surgeries. Your prescriptions will be sent to your local pharmacy - please contact reception if you do not already have this set up.

If you require an isolation note (sick note for those who are self-isolating), please visit the 111 website. We will be unable to provide a fit note for patients who are self isolating.

Stay at home if you have coronavirus symptoms

Stay at home if you have either:

  • a high temperature – you feel hot to touch on your chest or back
  • a new, continuous cough – this means you've started coughing repeatedly
  • loss of/change in smell or taste

You do not need to contact 111 to tell them you're staying at home. However, if you have worsening symptoms or have become breathless, please contact 111.

Testing for coronavirus is not needed if you're staying at home.

How long to stay at home

  • if you have symptoms, stay at home for 7 days
  • if you live with other people, they should stay at home for 14 days from the day the first person got symptoms

If you live with someone who is 70 or over, has a long-term condition, is pregnant or has a weakened immune system, try to find somewhere else for them to stay for 14 days.

If you have to stay at home together, try to keep away from each other as much as possible.
