If you suspect you have coronavirus, PLEASE DO NOT COME TO SURGERY. Please stay at home and go onto the NHS 111 website (https://111.nhs.uk/) or call 111 for advice. Do not use public transport or taxis. Do not go to work, school or public places. Do not just present yourself to any GP surgery or hospital without seeking advice first.

Shielding and protecting people who are clinically extremely vulnerable from COVID-19

Blood tests during the pandemic - New online booking system www.merseycare.nhs.uk/mybloodtest

In light of the ongoing COVID-19 situation, Concept House and Sefton Road Surgery are following advice from NHS England and moving to a total telephone triage system. This means that rather than offering a face to face appointment, you can contact the a doctor by submitting an e-consult or requesting a phone call. If the Doctor wishes to see you, they will then offer you a face to face appointment. This is designed to reduce the number of people physically attending the surgery to protect staff and patients from COVID-19. The surgery doors will remain closed until further notice, only those with an appointment given by a Doctor or HCA should attend.

If you require a repeat prescription, please use our online services or prescription post boxes at the front of the surgeries. Your prescriptions will be sent to your local pharmacy - please contact reception if you do not already have this set up.

If you require an isolation note (sick note for those who are self-isolating), please visit the 111 website. We will be unable to provide a fit note for patients who are self isolating.

Stay at home if you have coronavirus symptoms

Stay at home if you have either:

  • a high temperature – you feel hot to touch on your chest or back
  • a new, continuous cough – this means you've started coughing repeatedly
  • loss of/change in smell or taste

You do not need to contact 111 to tell them you're staying at home. However, if you have worsening symptoms or have become breathless, please contact 111.

Testing for coronavirus is not needed if you're staying at home.

How long to stay at home

  • if you have symptoms, stay at home for 10 days from the onset of your symptoms
  • if you live with other people, they should stay at home for 14 days from the day the first person got symptoms. If you then develop symptoms, you should isolate for 10 days from the onset of your symptoms

If you live with someone who is 70 or over, has a long-term condition, is pregnant or has a weakened immune system, try to find somewhere else for them to stay for 14 days.

If you have to stay at home together, try to keep away from each other as much as possible.
